Longshe is a town in the southeastern part of Chongqing Municipality, in the rugged, forested hill country that stretches toward the Wuling Mountains. Flat land is scarce here, so the town follows the valley floor and the roads. From above it looks elongated, a narrow band of streets and buildings squeezed between slopes.
Southeastern Chongqing is known for its karst landscape, terraced fields and deep valleys, and settlements usually grow along rivers and main routes.
