Lüleburgaz lies in eastern Thrace, in the European part of Turkey, on the historic road between Istanbul and Edirne. On a map the main road cuts through the town from east to west, and the older streets cluster around it. Newer districts extend in more regular blocks, and gently rolling farmland spreads out on every side.
The town's best-known monument is the Sokollu Mehmed Pasha complex, designed by the architect Mimar Sinan in the sixteenth century. Built beside the main road, it includes a mosque and a caravanserai for travellers. Lüleburgaz also gave its name to a major battle of the First Balkan War in 1912.
