Nazaré Map Poster & Print
Nazaré lies in the Recôncavo, the region around the Bay of All Saints in Bahia, and its map is shaped by the Jaguaripe River, which runs through the town. Streets follow both banks and climb gentle hills, joined by bridges that form the key connections of the urban plan.
The town has long been known as Nazaré das Farinhas, a name that recalls its historic role in producing and trading manioc flour, transported by river toward Salvador. Today it is also famous for the Feira dos Caxixis, a fair of small ceramic pieces held around Easter that draws visitors from across the region.
A Nazaré map poster shows an old river town in clear lines: the curve of the Jaguaripe, the crossings, the older streets near the water and the newer neighbourhoods reaching up the slopes. The river gives the composition a natural centre, and in minimalist styles its winding course becomes the dominant form.

River crossings
Bridges link the two sides of Nazaré, and the streets converge on them, making these crossings the natural focal points of the street plan.
Hillside streets
Away from the river, streets climb the low hills in irregular patterns, loosening the density and framing the historic core near the water.
