Branching roads
Roads follow the hills and valleys, splitting and rejoining as they go. From above they form a flowing, irregular network rather than straight streets.

Parappur Map Poster & Print
Parappur does not have the tight centre of a planned town. Like much of northern Kerala, it spreads across low hills and valleys, with houses scattered along roads that follow the contours of the land. From above, the street network looks organic and branching, more like a river system than a grid.
The area lies inland in Malappuram district, in a landscape of laterite slopes, coconut and areca palms, and small paddy fields in the valley bottoms. Settlements in this region tend to merge into one another, so the boundaries on a map are soft and gradual rather than sharp.
A Parappur map poster turns this pattern into something quietly graphic. The winding roads create long, looping lines, the junctions form small clusters, and the empty spaces suggest the dense greenery between them. It is a personal piece for families from the area, including those living abroad.

Valley paddies
Low-lying ground between the hills is used for small fields. On the map these valleys appear as open channels running between the more settled slopes.
Soft boundaries
Houses spread continuously along roads into neighbouring villages. The poster shows a gradual landscape of settlement without a hard edge.
