Passi is a component city of Iloilo province on the island of Panay, well inland from the coast. On the map its urban centre is compact: a cluster of streets around the plaza and public buildings, with barangays spread across a wide rural area. The main north–south highway across Panay passes through, linking Passi to Iloilo City and the northern parts of the island.
Much of the territory is agricultural, so the map pattern changes as you move out from the centre. Small streets and blocks give way to scattered settlements, winding rural roads and waterways that cross the lowland. It is a typical layout for a Visayan inland city, where the town proper is only a small part of a much larger jurisdiction.
