Pinheiral Map Poster & Print
Pinheiral lies in the south of Rio de Janeiro state, in the valley of the Paraíba do Sul river, close to the industrial city of Volta Redonda. From above, the town follows the lie of the land: streets gather on the flatter ground near the river, while neighbourhoods reach up into the low, rounded hills that surround it.
The Paraíba do Sul valley was a major coffee-growing region in the nineteenth century, and many towns in the area trace their origins to that period. Today Pinheiral is a quieter place, with the river and the regional roads still shaping how it spreads across the landscape.
A Pinheiral map poster shows a town in close dialogue with its terrain. The river draws a soft curve, the hills leave irregular gaps between districts and the main roads link it to its larger neighbours. It is an understated, personal piece.
