Puurs Map Poster & Print
Puurs lies in the province of Antwerp, between Antwerp and Brussels. Since 2019, it has been part of the merged municipality of Puurs-Sint-Amands. On a map, it follows a very Flemish pattern: a town centre where several roads meet, surrounded by ribbons of houses along the roads and smaller village cores scattered across flat, green land. Waterways and the Scheldt lie close by to the west.
Puurs is widely known for its large pharmaceutical manufacturing site, one of the main production plants of Pfizer in Europe. It came to international attention during the COVID-19 vaccine rollout. On the map, industrial and business parks appear as large simple blocks. They sit beside the fine texture of houses, farms and country lanes.
