San Ignacio de Sabaneta, often simply called Sabaneta, is the capital of Santiago Rodríguez province in the northwest of the Dominican Republic. The province takes its name from Santiago Rodríguez, a leader of the Restoration War of the 1860s. The town lies in hilly country at the northern edge of the Cordillera Central, not far from the border with Haiti.
