Sindgi is in Vijayapura district in northern Karnataka, on the wide, dry plateau of the Deccan. The landscape around the town is flat and heavily farmed, and the map reflects this: a compact built-up core, a few main roads leading out, and large blocks of fields that stretch in every direction with very little to interrupt them.
