Vāda is a town in Maharashtra's Palghar district. It lies inland from the Arabian Sea coast, north-east of Mumbai, in country that rises gradually toward the hills of the Western Ghats. From above, the town is a compact cluster of streets at a meeting of roads, with fields, streams and scattered villages spreading out on every side.
The street pattern is irregular rather than planned.
