Fond du Lac Map Poster & Print
Fond du Lac lies at the southern end of Lake Winnebago, Wisconsin’s largest inland lake. Its French name means bottom of the lake, and the map shows exactly that: a grid of streets pressed up against a broad shoreline, with open water stretching away to the north.
The Fond du Lac River runs through the city in several branches before reaching the lake, adding gentle curves to an otherwise orderly street layout. A Fond du Lac map poster shows how Main Street and the surrounding blocks line up between the river channels and the lakefront.
Lakeside Park, on the shore, is home to a small lighthouse and a series of lagoons and islands that form some of the most intricate shapes on the map. Highways, including US 41, skirt the city in long, straight lines, framing the older grid within them.
