Mechelen Map Poster & Print
Mechelen's historic centre is almost round. It is enclosed by a ring road that follows the line of the former city walls. The river Dyle winds through this oval, with quays and small canals branching from it. Inside the ring, the streets lead toward the Grote Markt and the cathedral. Outside, residential neighbourhoods, railway lines and canals spread toward Brussels and Antwerp.
In the early sixteenth century, Mechelen was the capital of the Burgundian Netherlands under Margaret of Austria, and much of its historic architecture dates from that period. The tower of St Rumbold's Cathedral dominates the skyline and houses carillons. The city is home to the Royal Carillon School, the first of its kind in the world.
A Mechelen map poster shows the ring, the river and the dense grid of lanes inside. The result is a well-balanced composition with a clear centre. It is a thoughtful choice for residents, former students and anyone who has spent time between Brussels and Antwerp.

Miért Mechelen?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Mechelen's compact, ring-bound centre makes an especially clear map. People hang it to remember student years, a first flat by the Dyle or a family home, and it works well in both small apartments and larger rooms.
Change the title, subtitle and coordinates to suit you, for a moving date, an address or a dedication. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Get the $9 HD files or a printed poster shipped from a regional partner.
