Paranapanema River
The river is the dominant feature of the map. It winds past the town in wide curves and gives the composition a strong, flowing line of water.

Piraju Map Poster & Print
Piraju lies in southwestern São Paulo state, where the Paranapanema River winds past the town in broad curves and gives it a distinctive setting from above. The centre has a street grid that adjusts to the river and the terrain, and newer districts spread across the gentle hills beyond. Bridges carry the roads over the Paranapanema toward the surrounding region.
The river has been dammed at several points along this stretch for hydroelectric power, and the reservoirs widen it into long, irregular shapes on the map. Piraju is officially classed as a tourist resort town in the state and draws visitors to its riverside. The countryside around it is known for growing coffee.
A Piraju map poster captures the interplay between the grid and the river, with the town arranged along the water and the reservoirs spreading beyond. It is a natural choice for people who grew up here, for visitors who come back every year, and for anyone who likes a town whose form is set by its river.

Reservoirs
Hydroelectric dams along this stretch have widened the river into lakes with irregular, branching shorelines that reach deep into the surrounding valleys.
Adapted grid
The central streets follow a broadly regular pattern but bend where the ground and the riverbank require, so the plan feels ordered without being rigid.

Miért Piraju?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
A map of Piraju is a portrait of a town and its river together. People hang it to remember summers by the water, a family coffee farm, or simply the place where they grew up in the interior of São Paulo.
