Continuous street grid
Straight residential streets carry on from south Minneapolis without a break. The city's northern boundary is barely visible, with one grid flowing into the next.

Richfield Map Poster & Print
Richfield lies directly south of Minneapolis, and on a map the city's grid carries straight on across the border: block after regular block of mid-century houses on straight streets. It is one of the Twin Cities' first-ring suburbs and was largely built out in the years after the Second World War. Its plan still reflects that period of quick, orderly growth.
Large pieces of infrastructure break up the grid. Interstate 35W runs north to south through the city, Interstate 494 forms much of its southern edge, and Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport sits just to the east. Richfield is also home to the headquarters of Best Buy, whose campus sits beside Interstate 494 in the south of the city.
A Richfield map poster makes a good study in contrast. The fine mesh of residential streets sits against the heavy curves of the interchanges and the open ground of parks. Printed in black and white, the city looks almost like graph paper on which a planner has drawn a few confident strokes.

Freeway interchanges
Where I-35W meets I-494 on the southern edge, broad looping ramps appear. They are the largest curved shapes in an otherwise rectilinear plan.
Wood Lake Nature Center
A preserved wetland and lake appears as an irregular open patch. It is one of the few places where the grid gives way to water and marsh.

Miért Richfield?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Richfield is the kind of place people grow up in and remember street by street. A framed map of the grid is an easy way to mark a first house, a childhood address or a move away from the Twin Cities.
Add a household name, a street or a date to the title and subtitle, and adjust the coordinates line. There are five styles, from Classic black & white and Noir to Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Buy it as a $9 digital download or as a printed poster.
