Contour-following streets
Roads here curve with the terrain instead of running straight, so the street plan reads almost like a set of contour lines drawn around the town's low hills.

Sanqu Map Poster & Print
Sanqu sits in the rolling western districts of Chongqing, well away from the famous river city and its high-rise peninsula. From above, the town looks compact. Its streets follow the contours rather than a grid, gathering where the ground flattens and thinning out where the slopes begin. Farmland and scattered hamlets surround the built-up core on every side.
The land around Chongqing is rarely level, and Sanqu shows it. Roads loop around low hills, small watercourses wind through the valleys, and field boundaries step up the slopes in curved bands. At poster scale these lines turn into a fine, irregular texture. The town's own streets form a denser knot at the centre, clearly separate from the countryside around it.
A Sanqu map poster keeps all of this in plain black and white. With colour and labels gone, what remains is the way a hill town settles into uneven ground: a few main roads converging, lanes branching off them, and the quiet pattern of the land between. It is a modest subject that holds up well on a wall.

Valley watercourses
Small streams thread through the folds of the land around Sanqu, adding thin, winding lines that contrast with the firmer strokes of the roads.
Town and field edge
The compact centre gives way quickly to open countryside, and the boundary between dense streets and scattered rural lanes is easy to see on the map.

Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
For someone who grew up in Sanqu or has family there, the map is a precise record of a place that rarely appears in atlases. The streets, the curves of the hills and the familiar approach roads are all there, drawn without distraction.
You can add your own title, a subtitle and a coordinates line, perhaps a family name or a year, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download the HD files for $9 or order a matte print, with an optional wooden frame.
