Deep inlets
Narrow bays cut far into the island from the sea, giving it a jagged, indented outline that stands out among the rounder islands of the Dodecanese.

La mappa
Agathonisi Map Poster & Print
Agathonisi is one of the smallest inhabited islands of the Dodecanese, lying north of Patmos and Leros and south of Samos, with the Turkish coast not far to the east. From above it is irregular and rocky, its edges cut by narrow inlets and small bays that reach well into the land. The interior is dry hill country of scrub and stone, crossed by a handful of roads.
The island's harbour, Agios Georgios, sits at the head of one of these sheltered inlets, and a road climbs from it to the small hilltop villages above. Much of the rest of the island is reached by tracks and paths that lead down to secluded coves. The population is small and the pace is slow, with ferries and small boats linking it to the larger islands nearby.
An Agathonisi map poster shows the island's character through its coastline: long fingers of sea pushing into rocky land, a few roads threading between them and a scatter of small bays. It is an unusual and compact shape, easy to recognise once you know it, and it holds a square or portrait frame with ease.

Harbour at Agios Georgios
The port lies at the head of a sheltered inlet, where ferries arrive and the island's main road begins its climb inland to the villages.
Close to Turkey
The island lies near the Anatolian coast, so larger-scale framings can include a stretch of the mainland shoreline across the water to the east.

Perché Agathonisi
Una mappa che ha un significato
Agathonisi draws people looking for a very quiet Greek island, and those who find it tend to remember it clearly. A map of the island marks that discovery: a summer spent island-hopping or a return visit to a favourite cove.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are yours to set, and you can choose between Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand suits the dry hills, while Classic keeps every inlet crisp.
