Field grid
Rectangular plots and farm roads surround the town in an orderly lattice, a characteristic of the flat northern Jiangsu plain that gives the poster a calm, geometric background.

La mappa
Ahu Map Poster & Print
Ahu lies in the north of Jiangsu province, in the low country of the Huai River basin. The land here is almost perfectly flat, and from above the town appears as a compact block of streets surrounded by rectangular fields. Straight roads and drainage channels run at right angles to one another, giving the whole area a measured, surveyed look that changes little from one horizon to the next.
The built-up area mixes older lanes with newer, wider streets and residential compounds, a pattern shared by many towns in the region that have grown quickly in recent decades. Water is a constant presence: ponds, ditches and canals divide the fields and edge the town, and they appear on the map as thin lines and small shapes that add fine detail to the surroundings.
An Ahu map poster is best framed wide enough to include the countryside, since the grid of fields and waterways is as much a part of the place as the town itself. It is a thoughtful gift for someone from this corner of Jiangsu, and it looks especially clean in the Blueprint or Paper styles.

Waterways
Canals, drainage ditches and ponds thread through the fields and along the town's edges, adding fine lines that soften the straight geometry of roads and plots.
Compact centre
The town itself forms a dense block where older lanes meet newer streets and residential compounds, standing out clearly against the open farmland around it.
