La mappa
Alhambra Map Poster & Print
Alhambra sits in the western San Gabriel Valley, a few miles east of downtown Los Angeles. From above, it is almost entirely grid: long east–west boulevards such as Main Street and Valley Boulevard, crossed by north–south avenues and filled with compact blocks of houses, apartments and small commercial strips. The San Bernardino Freeway runs along the southern side of the city.
The city takes its name from the Alhambra in Granada, a choice inspired by Washington Irving's Tales of the Alhambra, and some street names carry on the Spanish theme. Growth in the early twentieth century left a regular, walkable street pattern, with tree-lined residential blocks rather than cul-de-sacs.
Today Alhambra is known for its large Asian American community and for the restaurants along Valley Boulevard and Main Street, part of the wider food culture of the San Gabriel Valley. An Alhambra map poster presents the city at its simplest: a tidy mesh of streets, framed by freeways and bordered by neighbouring cities on every side.

Tight residential grid
Between the boulevards, short blocks of homes form a dense, uniform mesh. It gives the poster a fine texture and an even visual rhythm.
Freeway edges
The San Bernardino Freeway traces the southern side of the city, and the end of a 710 spur marks the west. Both frame the grid with broad lines.
