La mappa
Bahacheve Map Poster & Print
Bahacheve, known until recently as Vatutine, is a town in Cherkasy Oblast in central Ukraine. It was founded after the Second World War as a settlement for workers in the local brown-coal mines, and its layout reflects that origin. Its streets are planned, with residential blocks, broad avenues and public spaces arranged in a regular pattern typical of Soviet-era new towns.
The town was renamed Bahacheve in 2024 as part of Ukraine's wider effort to remove Soviet-era names. Around it, the land is typical of central Ukraine: fertile farmland, small rivers and ponds, and scattered villages linked by rural roads. The former mining areas have left their own traces in the landscape.
A Bahacheve map poster shows a clear, planned structure. The town's blocks and avenues form an orderly grid, surrounded by the irregular patterns of fields, rivers and villages. That contrast between design and landscape gives the print a strong graphic quality and a sense of the town's particular history.

Farmland mosaic
Large fields surround the town, divided by rural roads and tree lines. Together they make a broad pattern out to the edges of the frame.
Rivers and ponds
Small rivers and ponds lie in the lower ground around the town. They add curves and open shapes to the otherwise straight-lined layout.
