La mappa
Bariri Map Poster & Print
Bariri is a municipality in the interior of São Paulo state, in farming country of sugarcane and open fields. Its map follows the familiar pattern of the paulista interior: a chequerboard of near-square blocks, a central square with the main church, and avenues running out to the highways that connect it to neighbouring towns.
What sets Bariri apart is water. The Tietê River passes nearby and is held back by the Bariri hydroelectric dam, part of the chain of reservoirs that makes the river navigable through the state. On a wider frame the reservoir appears as a long, pale body with an irregular shoreline beside the tidy geometry of the town.
A Bariri map poster sets these two textures side by side: the disciplined grid where daily life happens and the looser, organic outline of the river country around it. The contrast is plain in black and white and gives a small town a surprisingly graphic image.

Tietê reservoir
The Bariri dam on the Tietê forms a wide reservoir that is part of the river's navigable waterway. It adds a large, soft-edged shape to the map beside the town.
Farmland margins
Beyond the last blocks, rural roads and field boundaries take over. The urban grid ends cleanly against the open agricultural land that surrounds it.

For people from Bariri, the grid is instantly familiar: the walk to the square, the street where the family house stands, the road out towards the river. A map poster keeps those routes in view without sentimentality, as a clean drawing that sits well in a living room or a study.
