La mappa
Béguédo Map Poster & Print
Béguédo lies in Boulgou province in Burkina Faso's Centre-Est region, near the Nakambé, as the White Volta is called here. The town spreads across flat ground in a loose pattern of compounds, open courtyards and sandy streets. On a map it looks less like a grid than a series of connected clusters, joined by paths that follow the way people actually move.
The river valley supports irrigated farming, and fields and canals appear near the town as regular blocks against the looser pattern of the settlement. Beyond, the landscape opens into savanna crossed by tracks leading to neighbouring villages. A Béguédo map poster shows that balance of informal town, cultivated valley and open country in a single frame.
Béguédo is widely known for its long-standing ties to Italy, where many of its residents have emigrated. Money sent home has shaped the town's architecture, and larger modern houses now stand beside traditional compounds. The map does not show their facades, but it does record a town that has grown and changed through those connections.

Nakambé valley
The White Volta valley nearby supports irrigated fields whose straighter outlines contrast sharply with the curving lines of the settlement.
Village tracks
Unpaved roads lead out across the savanna to neighbouring communities, drawing thin, wandering lines toward the edges of the poster.
