Berekum is a town in the Bono Region of western Ghana, not far from the regional capital, Sunyani. The surrounding country is green and gently rolling, largely farmland interspersed with forest. From above, the town is a broad spread of neighbourhoods around its commercial centre, with roads leading toward neighbouring towns.
The street pattern mixes older, irregular areas near the centre with more regular newer blocks at the edges. Main roads carry traffic toward Sunyani and other towns in the region, and along them, the built-up area stretches outward before giving way to fields.
