Bhati Map Poster
Bhati lies at the southern tip of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, close to the border with Haryana. On a map it is a small settlement of irregular streets, very different from the planned colonies further north. Around it, the landscape changes to the rocky, scrubby terrain of the Aravalli ridge, one of the oldest mountain systems in India.
The village gives its name to the Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary, a protected area on the ridge that includes former mining land, now slowly being restored. On the map, the sanctuary appears as a large, open area where the dense city fabric of Delhi gives way to paths, old pits and water-filled hollows.
