Fine residential grid
Thousands of small blocks fill the town in a tight, even pattern, so the map reads as a dense texture that looks almost woven when printed at larger sizes.

La mappa
Buenavista Map Poster & Print
Buenavista is a large locality in the municipality of Tultitlán, in the State of Mexico, on the northern fringe of the metropolitan area around Mexico City. It grew quickly in recent decades as families moved outward from the capital, and its map reflects that growth: a dense fabric of small rectangular blocks and narrow streets, much of it laid out as successive housing developments.
Main avenues cross the area and connect it to the rest of the valley, and on the poster they stand out as the few long lines within an otherwise fine-grained pattern. The orientation of the grid changes from one neighbourhood to another, marking the boundaries of separate subdivisions, and small plazas, schools and sports fields appear as occasional open spaces among the housing.
Beyond the town, the plain of the Valley of Mexico extends in every direction, broken by the hills that ring it. A Buenavista map poster gives a place that seldom appears on printed maps the attention it deserves, and its sheer density makes for a textured, almost woven image, especially in the darker Noir style.

Shifting orientations
Neighbouring subdivisions were laid out separately, and their grids meet at different angles, producing visible seams that trace how the town was built.
Connecting avenues
A few long avenues cut through the housing and link Buenavista to the wider metropolitan area, standing out as clear lines against the finer streets.

Perché Buenavista
Una mappa che ha un significato
