Regular grid
The town's streets form a mostly orthogonal grid of short blocks, which gives the poster a calm, orderly pattern that is easy to read.

La mappa
Canarana Map Poster & Print
Canarana is a municipality in the interior of Bahia, in northeastern Brazil, within the semi-arid region known as the sertão. The town lies inland on the state's high plains, where the land is broad and open. On the map its urban area forms a compact, fairly regular grid of streets with clear edges on every side.
Like many towns of the Bahian interior, it grew outward from a central core, with residential blocks extending along the roads to neighbouring municipalities. The surrounding countryside, close to the farming region around Irecê, is mostly given over to agriculture. The rural roads leaving town divide it into long, straight field boundaries.
A Canarana map poster is a clean, graphic composition: a clearly bounded town with straight streets, set in wide space. It suits anyone who grew up there or has family in the sertão. It also shows the ordered layout typical of Brazil's interior towns with unusual clarity at any print size.

Roads outward
Several roads leave the town toward neighbouring municipalities. They draw long lines across the plain that tie Canarana to the wider Irecê region.
Open sertão
Around the built-up area the map shows open, cultivated land with few features, so the town stands out as a distinct island of streets.

Perché Canarana
Una mappa che ha un significato
Many people from the Bahian interior now live in Salvador, São Paulo or elsewhere, and a map of the hometown can carry a lot of meaning. Canarana's clear shape makes a print that is both personal and visually simple.
You can add a name, a date or a short phrase in the title and subtitle, and adjust the coordinates. Sand and Paper suit the warm tones of the sertão, while Classic black & white, Noir and Blueprint give a crisper finish.
