Iowa River
The river runs along the city's eastern edge toward Iowa City. Parks and trails line its banks, and it forms a clear boundary and the most prominent natural line on the map.

La mappa
Coralville Map Poster & Print
Coralville sits on the west bank of the Iowa River, directly next to Iowa City in eastern Iowa. The two cities form a single urban area, but on a map Coralville has its own character. Parks and trails line the river, a commercial strip follows Highway 6, and newer neighbourhoods spread west and north across rolling ground.
The city is named after the fossil coral in the area's Devonian limestone. The fossils are exposed dramatically at the Devonian Fossil Gorge below the Coralville Lake dam, where a flood in 1993 stripped away the soil to reveal an ancient seabed. The reservoir stretches north of the city, and on a Coralville map poster its long, narrow waters add a strong natural element.
Interstate 80 crosses the city, and its interchanges create large, sweeping forms among the streets. Around them are shopping centres, the Iowa River Landing district and sports fields, while residential streets curve through the hills. In black and white, the river, the reservoir and the interstate combine into a composition that is both natural and distinctly modern American.

Coralville Lake
North of the city, the reservoir behind a dam on the Iowa River stretches through wooded valleys, and its long, branching shape adds open space at the top of the print.
Interstate 80
The interstate cuts across Coralville with broad interchanges whose curving ramps create bold, graphic shapes among the smaller streets and commercial blocks.

Perché Coralville
Una mappa che ha un significato
Coralville is home to many University of Iowa students, staff and alumni, and to families who have settled in its quieter neighbourhoods. A map of the city makes a good graduation or housewarming gift, a reminder of years spent between the river and the reservoir.
Set a custom title and subtitle, perhaps a class year or an address, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 digital HD files include six sizes, and printed posters can be ordered with an optional wooden frame.
