La mappa
Derby Map Poster & Print
Derby lies just south of Wichita, and its map shows the logic of the Great Plains. Section-line roads run straight north–south and east–west, cutting the land into even squares. Inside them, newer subdivisions add curving streets and cul-de-sacs, so the plan alternates between strict right angles and soft loops.
The Arkansas River runs along the western side of town. Its winding course is the one irregular line in an otherwise measured landscape. Parks and green strips follow the smaller creeks through the neighbourhoods, and farmland still borders the town to the south and east, keeping the edges of the built-up area sharp and legible.
A Derby map poster suits the kind of place where the street pattern tells you when each neighbourhood was built. The older core is close to a plain grid, and the newer residential areas spread outward in looping plats. In black and white the two styles sit side by side clearly, and the river gives the composition a natural boundary.

Arkansas River
The river curves along Derby's western edge. Against the straight roads of the plains, its meanders are the most organic line in the whole composition.
Curving subdivisions
Residential areas fill the grid squares with looping streets and cul-de-sacs. They add a soft, almost decorative pattern inside the rigid outer frame.

Perché Derby
Una mappa che ha un significato
Derby is a place people settle in, raise families in and come back to, so its map often marks a home, a first house or a hometown left behind for a career elsewhere. The clean grid and the river curve make a calm, understated print for a hallway or study.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example a street name and a year. Pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download six print sizes for $9, or order a matte print from partners in more than 30 countries.
