Planned residential blocks
Dniprorudne was designed as a whole, and its streets form orderly blocks of apartment buildings with wide spaces between them, a pattern typical of Soviet town planning.

La mappa
Dniprorudne Map Poster & Print
Dniprorudne lies in the Zaporizhzhia region of southern Ukraine, on the southern shore of what was the Kakhovka Reservoir on the Dnipro. The town was founded in the 1960s to house workers of a nearby iron ore mining complex, and its plan shows it clearly. Wide streets, regular blocks of apartment buildings and open spaces were laid out together in a single scheme.
The relationship with the water defined the town. The broad reservoir stretched away to the north, and the town's layout turns towards it, with the shoreline forming a long edge on the map. The mines and industrial areas nearby add a separate zone of large, geometric shapes beside the residential districts.
A Dniprorudne map poster shows a town built from scratch in a single era, with a coherence that older towns rarely have. The regular blocks and the long waterside edge make a clean, structured composition in any of the five styles.
