The reservoir
The Volga, widened by the reservoir, fills a large part of the map. Its wide, empty surface gives the poster a strong sense of space.

La mappa
Dubovka Map Poster & Print
Dubovka lies in Volgograd Oblast on the right bank of the Volga, north of the city of Volgograd. Here the river has been widened by the Volgograd Reservoir, so on the map the town faces a large sheet of water with the low left bank far away.
The streets form a fairly regular pattern on the rising ground above the shore. Ravines cut down toward the water, and the steppe begins at the town's western edge. The main road north from Volgograd runs past, connecting Dubovka to the chain of settlements along the right bank.
The town dates back to the eighteenth century and has a long history tied to the Volga trade. A Dubovka map poster shows the scale of the river: a modest grid on the bank and a great expanse of water beside it.

Right-bank grid
The town's streets follow a fairly regular plan on the higher ground above the water. It reads as a neat shape at the river's edge.
Ravines and steppe
Gullies run down toward the shore, and open steppe spreads to the west, adding irregular lines around the town's edges.

Perché Dubovka
Una mappa che ha un significato
The Volga means a great deal to the people who live along it. A map of Dubovka keeps a hometown, a summer house or a family history on the wall, with the river as the dominant shape.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, including in Cyrillic. Blueprint suits the broad water well, and Classic black and white, Noir, Paper and Sand offer calmer alternatives.
