Taquari River
The wide river curves along the town's edge and dominates the map, giving the poster a strong diagonal line of open water.

La mappa
Estrela Map Poster & Print
Estrela lies in the Taquari Valley of Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil, on the bank of the Taquari River opposite Lajeado. On a map the river is the main feature: a broad, curving band of water along one side of the town, with a regular grid of streets stretching back from it toward the hills.
The valley was settled in the nineteenth century largely by German immigrants, and that heritage is still visible in the region's family names, churches and farming. Estrela has long had a working relationship with the river, which serves as both a transport route and the defining edge of the town.
An Estrela map poster places the Taquari at the heart of the composition. The water curves across the frame, the bridge crosses it toward Lajeado, and the orderly blocks of Estrela fill the space beside it. The contrast between the smooth river and the square grid makes a strong, clean print.

Regular grid
The town centre is laid out as an orderly grid of streets, a neat pattern of blocks that reads clearly in black and white.
Across the water
Lajeado lies on the opposite bank, so the poster can show the two towns facing each other across the river, joined by the bridge.
