La mappa
Etāwah Map Poster & Print
Etāwah stands on the Yamuna in western Uttar Pradesh, between Agra and Kanpur. The river runs past the southern side of the city, and its broad bed, sandbanks and floodplain form a wide pale margin on the map. The older town lies closest to the water, with narrow, winding lanes that contrast with the straighter roads of the newer districts further north.
Beyond the river the land breaks into the ravines typical of the Chambal and Yamuna valleys, a maze of eroded gullies with very few roads. That emptiness gives an Etāwah map poster a strong natural boundary, where the dense urban grain stops abruptly at the edge of a rough, largely unbuilt landscape.
Etawah lies on the main railway line and highway corridors that cross the Ganges plain, and these long routes pass the town in firm, nearly straight lines. The city has also developed a large safari park on its outskirts, a recent addition to a place whose shape is still defined mainly by its river and the broken country around it.

Ravine country
Across the river, eroded ravines leave the land almost roadless, a striking blank area that sharpens the outline of the dense town beside it.
Rail and road corridors
Long transport routes across the plain pass through Etawah in steady straight lines, contrasting with the tangled lanes of the old town near the water.
