La mappa
Fleetwood Map Poster & Print
Fleetwood is one of the town centres of Surrey, British Columbia, in the southeastern part of Metro Vancouver. It is largely residential. On a map it shows the classic layout of a late-twentieth-century Canadian suburb. A large grid of arterial roads surrounds neighbourhoods of curving crescents, loops and cul-de-sacs.
Fraser Highway is the defining line, running diagonally through the area toward Langley and cutting across the regular grid. Commercial blocks cluster along it, while parks, schools and green corridors fill the spaces between housing tracts. The planned SkyTrain extension along Fraser Highway will add a new transit line to this corridor.
A Fleetwood map poster turns suburban street design into a surprisingly rich pattern. Inside each square of arterials, the local streets form loops and curves, while the straight highway runs across everything. In black and white it looks almost like a drawing of cells under a microscope.

Crescents and cul-de-sacs
Inside the arterial grid, residential streets curl into loops and dead ends. They create an intricate, organic texture within each square.
Parks and green corridors
Parks, school fields and treed corridors are spread through the neighbourhood. They break up the housing with open patches that give the print breathing room.
