Meuse valley
The wide river runs through the frame and sets the orientation of everything else. It forms a smooth, dominant shape at the bottom of the valley.

La mappa
Flémalle-Haute Map Poster & Print
Flémalle-Haute lies on the Meuse just upstream of Liège, part of the municipality of Flémalle in the Walloon valley that once formed the heart of Belgian heavy industry. From above, the river makes a broad sweep through the scene. Railway lines and roads run parallel to it, and houses rise onto the steep valley side behind.
The Liège basin was one of Europe's early centres of coal and steel. Flémalle's riverbank still shows large industrial sites and wharves next to terraced streets. On the hill above the valley, the Château d'Aigremont overlooks the Meuse, a reminder that this landscape was valued long before the factories arrived.
A Flémalle-Haute map poster traces the valley in layers: water, then transport corridors, then long rows of streets climbing the slope. Large industrial plots appear as open blocks between them. It is a strong, structured composition for anyone who knows the Meuse valley or appreciates the shape of an industrial town.

Parallel corridors
Rail lines and main roads run beside the river in long, straight strips. These layered lines give the poster its industrial rhythm.
Hillside terraces
Streets of houses climb the valley side in rows that follow the slope. They add finer texture above the large riverside blocks.
