Crossroads centre
The main roads meet in the commercial heart of the village. On the poster this junction is the natural focal point from which the rest of the network spreads.

La mappa
Goodlands Map Poster & Print
Goodlands is in the Rivière du Rempart district in the north of Mauritius, and it is one of the island's larger villages. It lies on the flat northern plain, a short distance inland from the north-eastern coast. For generations the area around it has been planted with sugar cane, and that open farmland still shapes how the place looks from above.
The village has a busy commercial centre where the main roads meet, with shops and a market that serve the surrounding northern settlements. From there, streets branch out into residential areas that loosen toward the edges and give way to fields. Roads lead north toward the coastal villages and south toward Port Louis and the centre of the island.
A Goodlands map poster captures that crossroads character. The meeting point of the main roads forms a clear heart, and the residential streets radiate from it in an irregular web before thinning into open cane land. The result is simple and warm, a portrait of an island village that is lived in rather than curated.

Cane field margins
Sugar cane land surrounds the built-up area. It appears as broad open space on the print and frames the village with the calm of the northern plain.
Roads to the coast
Routes leading north and east toward the coastal villages give the map direction and hint at the sea just beyond the edge of the frame.

Perché Goodlands
Una mappa che ha un significato
For Mauritians at home and in the diaspora, Goodlands is often a family place, somewhere of grandparents, markets and school years. A map poster keeps those streets present in a flat in Paris, London or Montreal.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a family name, a Kreol phrase or an important date. Choose among five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand echoes the island's light nicely.
