La mappa
Granada Map Poster & Print
Granada lies in the Meta department of Colombia, on the lowlands east of the Andes where the llanos begin. The town is built on flat ground, and its map shows a regular grid of streets around the main plaza, with blocks spreading outward in straight lines. Beyond the edges, farm roads and field boundaries continue across the open land.
The Ariari River runs through the region, and the town is one of the main centres of the Ariari area, known for its agriculture. Rivers and streams cross the surrounding land in winding lines, breaking the regularity of the fields. Main roads connect Granada with Villavicencio and the other towns of the region.
This is a working agricultural town rather than a tourist destination, and the map shows it plainly: a tidy grid, rivers in the countryside, and wide plains all around. A Granada map poster is for people with ties to the town, whether they live there now or carry it with them elsewhere in Colombia or abroad.
