The Lågen valley
The river Lågen runs along the bottom of Gudbrandsdalen below the resort. Road and rail follow it closely, forming three parallel lines on the map.

La mappa
Hafjell Map Poster & Print
Hafjell lies in Øyer municipality, a short way north of Lillehammer, on the eastern side of the Gudbrandsdalen valley. From above, the ski area is a broad slope laid out on the valley side, with its runs pointing down toward the river Lågen and the main road and railway that follow it. The valley floor is flat and farmed, and the hills on both sides rise steadily.
The resort hosted the slalom and giant slalom events of the 1994 Winter Olympics, which were centred on Lillehammer. It was used again for the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games. On the map, the Olympic legacy is quiet: a set of long, even runs that are easy to trace from the ridge down to the base.
A Hafjell map poster shows a classic Norwegian valley in cross-section: river, railway and road side by side on the valley floor, cabins scattered through the forest, and pistes cutting the slope above. It is a restrained, orderly composition that suits the plain lines of a black-and-white print, and it works as a portrait of the valley as much as of the resort.

Olympic slopes
The runs that hosted the 1994 technical alpine events come down the valley side in long, steady lines. They are clearly legible in any print style.
Cabin settlements
Holiday cabins are scattered through the forest around the ski area. They form a loose pattern of small roads and clearings between the pistes.

Perché Hafjell
Una mappa che ha un significato
Hafjell is a family place for many Norwegians, a mountain returned to every winter holiday, and for others a reminder of the Lillehammer Games. A print of the valley suits a cabin wall as naturally as a city apartment.
Personalise the title, add a subtitle with a family name or a year, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The calm Paper and Sand styles suit the soft valley contours particularly well.
