La mappa

Hamakita Map Poster & Print

Hamakita lies on the Enshū plain in western Shizuoka, north of central Hamamatsu, and its map is framed by a river. The Tenryū River runs along its eastern side in a wide, braided bed of gravel bars and channels. Streets, homes and fields spread west from its bank across almost completely flat land.

The built-up area follows the railway and the main roads. Houses, small factories and fields are mixed together in the typical suburban pattern of the Tōkai region. The Enshū Railway line runs north-south through the district, with small stations at regular intervals, giving the map a clear vertical spine.

Hamakita was an independent city until 2005, when it merged into Hamamatsu. It later became a ward of the larger city, and its name remains in local use. A Hamakita map poster records a place defined by the wide river on one side and the gentle Enshū plain on the other.

Perché Hamakita

Una mappa che ha un significato

Many people still say they are from Hamakita, even though it is now part of Hamamatsu. A map with the old name as its title is a way to keep that identity, or to remember a family home on the plain near the river.

Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, using the old city name or your own words. Pick from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. A free 900 px watermarked preview lets you check the framing first.
