La mappa
Heba Map Poster & Print
Heba lies in the mountainous south of Gansu province, in a region of steep ridges, loess slopes and narrow valleys that lead toward Sichuan and Shaanxi. In country like this, towns sit on valley floors, and their shape follows the river and the road beside it.
From above, the town is long and narrow. Streets line up along the valley, and short side lanes run up toward the slopes until the ground becomes too steep. Terraced fields and farm tracks cling to the hillsides beyond. The map shows how carefully every flat piece of land has been used.
A Heba map poster suits people who come from this part of Gansu, where mountains shape daily life. The image is spare and exact: a river valley, the town it holds and the folded land around it.

Short side lanes
Lanes climb away from the main street only a short distance before the slopes rise, so the layout looks like a comb along the valley.
Folded hillsides
Terraces and winding tracks cover the surrounding slopes, a detailed texture that fills the map beyond the town.
