Right-angled streets
The town's main roads cross in a loose grid, so the poster has a steady rhythm of blocks that becomes more open as it moves out from the centre.

La mappa
Heguan Map Poster & Print
Seen from above, Heguan is a tight cluster of streets set into the level country of central Shandong. The main roads run nearly straight and cross at right angles, and the built-up blocks give way quickly to long rectangular fields. The map reads as a simple, orderly composition, dense at the centre and open at the margins, with little to interrupt the geometry.
Shandong is one of China's most populous provinces, and much of its interior looks like this: market towns spaced across a farmed plain and linked by roads and irrigation channels. Heguan belongs to that pattern. On a small scale, the difference between the old core and newer housing shows in the grain of the streets, finer in the middle and wider towards the edges.
A Heguan map poster keeps only the lines: roads in black, blocks and fields in white, and nothing else competing for attention. That restraint suits a place whose character comes from its layout rather than from a single landmark. The result is a quiet, balanced print that works well in a hallway, a study or beside a family photograph.

Field boundaries
Around the built-up area, straight tracks and channels divide the farmland into long strips, adding fine parallel lines that frame the town on every side.
Dense centre
The oldest part of town shows as the darkest patch on the map, where narrower lanes and closely packed buildings fill the space between the main roads.
