La mappa
Heishan Map Poster & Print
Heishan is a county town in the Jinzhou area of Liaoning, set on the broad, flat plain west of the Liao River. With almost no relief to work around, the town is laid out in straight lines. Its main streets run on a clear grid, and the rectangular blocks are easy to read from above. Beyond the last buildings, fields and rural roads extend to the horizon in the same orderly geometry.
The name means Black Mountain, which is unusual for such level country. The town serves as a market and administrative centre for the surrounding farmland, and its plan reflects that role, with wide avenues, a clear centre and a railway on one side.
A Heishan map poster shows how much order a plains town can have. The grid is regular, and the field boundaries around it echo its lines, so the whole print reads as a study in horizontals and verticals. It is a clean, architectural image that looks at home in modern interiors.

Rail edge
A railway line runs past the town and cuts a straight path along the built-up area. It gives the grid a firm boundary on one side.
Field patchwork
Around the town, rural roads and field edges carry on in the same straight lines, so the print looks like one continuous pattern from the centre outward.
