La mappa
Hpa-An Map Poster & Print
Hpa-An is the capital of Kayin State in southeastern Myanmar, set on the bank of the Thanlwin, known in English as the Salween. On a map the broad river curves past the town. Its streets form a compact grid close to the water, and roads lead out across the flat, cultivated plain.
The landscape around Hpa-An is famous for its karst: steep limestone mountains that rise straight out of the rice fields. Mount Zwegabin is the best known of them, and many peaks hold caves filled with Buddhist images. That makes the area a destination for pilgrims and travellers.
A Hpa-An map poster pairs the strong curve of the river with the neat town grid, and the limestone peaks appear as open islands in the plain. It is a composition shaped by water and stone, well suited to anyone who has travelled the region.

Karst mountains
Sheer limestone outcrops, including Mount Zwegabin, rise from the flat land. On the map they appear as isolated blank areas around which the roads bend.
Riverside grid
The town centre is a compact, fairly regular network of streets near the water. It gives the poster a clear, dense focal point.

Perché Hpa-An
Una mappa che ha un significato
Travellers who climbed Zwegabin or explored the caves often want to remember the place, and people from Kayin State want a clear picture of their capital. The river and the peaks make it instantly recognisable.
Set the title and subtitle to Hpa-An, a travel date or a personal line, and edit the coordinates if you wish. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Noir makes the river especially dramatic.
