Lijiang basin floor
The settlement spreads across level ground inside a mountain-ringed basin, so the streets fill the frame evenly before thinning out toward the valley edges.

La mappa
Huangshan Map Poster & Print
This Huangshan is not the famous mountain range in Anhui. It is a community in northwest Yunnan, in the high basin around Lijiang, more than two thousand metres above sea level. From above, the area mixes older village lanes, newer straight roads and blocks of recent development, all laid out on the flat valley floor enclosed by the surrounding ranges.
The Lijiang area is known for its old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a dense web of stone-paved lanes and small spring-fed canals, and for Jade Dragon Snow Mountain rising to the north. Huangshan lies close to this historic landscape. At a wider zoom, the tight, irregular streets of older settlement sit beside the broader, more regular grid of the modern city.
A Huangshan map poster from Yunnan shows a place where water, farmland and town are closely interwoven. Streams and channels cross the basin, roads run out toward the edges of the valley, and street density shifts noticeably from one district to the next. The result is a layered, varied texture that rewards a close look.

Old lanes and water
Where older settlement falls within the frame, narrow lanes and small water channels form an irregular mesh, a pattern the Lijiang area is known for.
Modern road grid
Wide, straight avenues of recent development cut across the basin and contrast with the organic lanes of the older villages.
