Dalt Vila walls
Sixteenth-century bastions ring the old hill town with pointed, angular outlines. Inside, narrow lanes climb toward the cathedral. It is the most distinctive shape on the entire map.

La mappa
Ibiza Map Poster & Print
Ibiza town, Eivissa in Catalan, is built around its harbour on the southeast coast of the island. The map has a clear centre of gravity: Dalt Vila, the old town, rises on a hill enclosed by angular Renaissance fortifications. Below it the port curves around sheltered water, and the modern town spreads west and north in a looser grid of streets.
Dalt Vila's walls were built in the sixteenth century, and in 1999 the town was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with the island's Posidonia seagrass meadows and archaeological sites. From above, the bastions are easy to pick out: sharp star-shaped points that stand apart from everything built later.
An Ibiza map poster works best as a study in contrasts. The tight, winding lanes of Dalt Vila, the geometric walls, the open curve of the harbour and the bays and headlands beyond combine into a composition that is far more architectural than most people expect of the island.

The harbour curve
The port wraps around a sheltered basin between the old town and the breakwaters. Its smooth waterline gives the composition a strong, calm arc.
Bays and coastline
Beyond the centre, the coast breaks into bays and small headlands, with Talamanca to the northeast and Figueretes to the southwest. They frame the town with an irregular edge of sea.

Perché Ibiza
Una mappa che ha un significato
For many people Ibiza means summers, friendships or a particular night by the harbour. A map of the town, walls and waterline included, holds on to the place more quietly than a photograph would, and suits a calm room as well as a lively one.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, whether that is a date, a name or simply Eivissa. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. HD files cost $9 and include 300 DPI PNGs and print-ready PDFs, with no watermark.
