La mappa
Icheon-si Map Poster & Print
Icheon lies in the south-east of Gyeonggi Province, where the Seoul metropolitan area gives way to low hills and farmland. On a map, the compact city centre sits beside a stream, with apartment blocks and a few main avenues surrounded by a wide landscape of fields, villages and wooded slopes. Expressways pass through the area, linking it to Seoul and the south.
The city has two long-standing reputations. Its rice is known throughout Korea, and the flat, irrigated fields around the centre show up as open spaces between roads. Icheon is also a centre of ceramics, with kilns and workshops concentrated in its pottery villages, and it is part of UNESCO's Creative Cities Network for crafts and folk art. A large semiconductor plant adds a modern industrial dimension.
An Icheon-si map poster captures this balance between farmland, craft villages and a dense town centre. The meandering stream, the wide expressway curves and the scattered clusters of streets create a composition that is calm and open, closer to a landscape drawing than a dense urban plan.

Pottery villages
Areas associated with kilns and ceramic workshops appear as small, loose clusters of lanes in the countryside, reflecting Icheon's long tradition of pottery.
Expressway curves
Major expressways cross the city's territory in broad arcs, giving the poster strong lines that frame the smaller streets and villages between them.

Una mappa che ha un significato
