La mappa
Ilagan Map Poster & Print
Ilagan sits in the Cagayan Valley in north-eastern Luzon, close to where the Ilagan River joins the Cagayan, the longest river in the Philippines. From above the water sets the terms. Wide channels, sandbars and river bends run past the town, and the compact centre stands on the land beside them, with farmland spreading out in every direction.
The city is the capital of Isabela province and covers an unusually large territory, much of it rural, reaching from the valley floor toward the Sierra Madre in the east. The main highway through the valley passes the city, and barangay roads fan out from it across rice and corn fields that make the area an important farming centre for the region.
An Ilagan map poster shows two kinds of line side by side. The rivers are broad and fluid, drawn as open shapes that shift across the frame. The streets form a tighter grid near the old centre and loosen into scattered roads beyond. It is a valley town seen clearly, with its rivers given the space they take up on the ground.

Poblacion grid
The town centre is a compact grid of short streets beside the river, the densest part of the composition and the clearest trace of the old town core.
Valley roads
Beyond the centre, long roads cross open farmland toward outlying barangays. They sit far apart and give the poster an open, airy quality.
