La mappa
Irun Map Poster & Print
Irun lies at the western end of the Pyrenees, on the Spanish side of the Bidasoa river, which forms the border with France. Across the water is Hendaye. From above, the town spreads over low ground and gentle hills along the river. Its streets run in several directions, shaped by the terrain and by the railway and road routes that have crossed the border here for centuries.
In the river between Irun and Hendaye is Pheasant Island, a tiny island jointly administered by Spain and France. Control alternates between them every six months. To the north, the Bidasoa widens into an estuary and bay beside Hondarribia. To the west, the steep ridge of Jaizkibel rises straight up from the coast.
An Irun map poster captures a town defined by a border river. The water curves along one side, the bridges link it with France, and the land rises to a mountain on the other side. The composition is naturally lively. On a larger frame, you can include both the estuary mouth and the neighbouring French town.

Perché Irun
Una mappa che ha un significato
Irun is a town where two countries meet. A map of the Bidasoa, the bridges and the streets on both banks is meaningful for families spread across the border, for those who grew up in the Basque Country and for travellers who crossed here.
You can personalise the title and subtitle, in Basque, Spanish, French or English, and edit the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries, with an optional wooden frame.
