La mappa
Itu Map Poster & Print
Itu lies in Akwa Ibom State in southeastern Nigeria, on the banks of the Cross River. From above, the town is shaped by water. The river and its creeks form wide curves on one side, and roads and residential streets spread inland across the lower ground. Farmland and patches of woodland surround the built-up area, so the town has a soft, irregular outline.
Its riverside position has long made Itu a place of trade and crossing between the interior and the coast. The main road toward Calabar crosses the Cross River nearby, and the river remains a defining feature of daily life. Much of the surrounding area is farmed, with palm and food crops making up the green fringe around the town.
An Itu map poster brings the river and the land into balance. The broad curves of water dominate one side of the sheet, while roads and streets fill the other with a looser network of lines. The resulting map is calm and uncluttered, and it gives a clear sense of how the town relates to the river it grew up beside.

Creeks and inlets
Smaller creeks and channels branch off the main river. They add fine, winding lines of water around the edges of the settlement.
Inland streets
Away from the river, roads and residential streets spread in a loose network, with farmland and trees filling the spaces between them.
