La mappa
Jebel is a town in Balkan Region, in western Turkmenistan, set in the arid country east of the Caspian Sea. From above it is a compact settlement in a wide desert landscape. It has a planned street layout and a railway line running nearby, a route that connects this part of the country to the coast and the interior.
The land around Jebel is dry, with sparse vegetation and few features beyond roads, rail and the town itself. That emptiness is what makes the map striking. The built area reads as a small, orderly island of streets set in a very large blank field.
A Jebel map poster is a study in contrast between dense and empty. The town's grid appears as a neat pattern, the railway draws a long straight line through the desert, and the rest of the composition is left almost bare. It is a spare, graphic print.

The town has an orderly layout of streets and blocks that looks deliberately planned. It is very different from the irregular ground around it.
Beyond the settlement the map is almost empty, with only a few tracks crossing dry land. That gives the poster a lot of white space.
