La mappa

Juanjuí Map Poster & Print

Juanjuí lies in the Huallaga valley in Peru's San Martín region, on the eastern slopes of the Andes where the mountains fall away into the Amazon lowlands. The town is the capital of Mariscal Cáceres province, and its layout reflects the classic Peruvian pattern: a rectangular grid of blocks focused on a central plaza.

The Huallaga River gives the map its main feature. The wide, braided channel runs along the edge of the town, with sandbars and side channels that change with the seasons. Beyond the last streets the grid stops abruptly, and roads thin into single lines heading out through farmland and forest.

A Juanjuí map poster shows a small, orderly settlement next to a very large river. The contrast is the design: the tidy blocks on one side and the broad, loose shapes of the Huallaga on the other. The province is also the gateway to Río Abiseo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Plaza-centred grid

The streets follow a regular block pattern around the main square, a compact rectangular layout that stands out clearly against the surrounding river and countryside.

Edge of the lowlands

Roads leave town as thin single lines through fields and forest, marking the transition from the Andean foothills toward the Amazon basin.

Perché Juanjuí

Una mappa che ha un significato

Juanjuí is a map for people from the upper Huallaga or for those who have travelled through on the way to Río Abiseo. It captures somewhere most atlases barely label, with the river given the space it deserves.

Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a family name or a year, then pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Get the HD files for $9 or a matte printed poster shipped from a nearby partner.
