Keevallur lies in the Kannur district of northern Kerala, inland from the Malabar coast, where the land rises gradually from the coastal plain into low laterite hills. Like many settlements in this part of Kerala, it is not a compact town but a dispersed area of houses, groves and small roads spread across the landscape.
From above, the map is defined by lanes and roads that curve with the terrain, with homes along them and dense tree cover filling the spaces between. Streams and paddy fields occupy the lower ground, while the higher land is dominated by coconut, cashew and other plantations typical of northern Malabar.
